In 2023, I decided to hit the road solo once again. This time, I chose my 2005 Santro Xing for the adventure.

Now, some might think an older, smaller car would be risky. But my Santro has been meticulously maintained by top-notch mechanics using the best resources available. I actually feel safer in it than in a modern car filled with electronics, sensors, and questionable build quality. The Santro is a reliable, bare-bones vehicle with AC, power steering, power windows, a sturdy engine, and excellent suspension.

The Adventure Begins

Day 1: Mumbai to Jaipur

My journey began on May 7th, 2023, from the same spot as my 2022 trip. Following the same route from Mumbai to Jaipur in one go, I set off at 12:30 AM and reached Jaipur at 11:00 PM the same day. This time, the smaller, nimble vehicle helped me navigate the traffic jams in Gujarat more swiftly.

Exploring Jaipur

After a day's rest in Jaipur, I set out for Chandigarh at 9:00 AM and arrived at my hotel by 3:00 PM. It was a leisurely drive with just one snack break.

Next Stop: Chandigarh

Rested and recharged, I headed to Himachal Pradesh the next day. My stops included Manali, a friend's homestay in Lahaul, where I had a wonderful stay, a quick visit to Kaksar, and then on to Kasol.

Kaksar: Quick Visit and Local Charm

Kasol: Peaceful Stay at Back Benchers In Kasol, I stayed at Back Benchers (yes, that's the name of the place), which I found to be the most peaceful spot away from the busy center. However, Kasol felt too crowded and hippie for my taste, so I left at first light the next day for Jibhi and its surrounding areas.
